The Office of Community Engagement and Outreach partnered with UT Libraries to host the Big Orange STEM Saturday (B.O.S.S.), an event that provides opportunities for high school, middle school, and early college students to explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The free event is held annually at Hodges Library with interactive exhibitions from different departments across campus. OCEO’s graduate student assistant, Kortney Powell, gave a presentation on forensic odontology and encouraged students to enter STEM fields at UT. Faculty and staff members also presented sessions related to their fields of expertise.
UT Libraries will host a STEM event for educators in the fall. For more information contact Thura Mack at tmack@utk.edu.
