Open Nominations for National Cancer Institute’s Council of Research Advocates

The National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health now invites member nominations for their Council of Research Advocates.  The NCRA is NCI’s only federal advisory board composed of advocate community leaders. The NCRA focuses on facilitating research and identifying and responding to challenges facing the Institute at the request of NCI leadership.The council focuses on facilitating research and identifying and responding to challenges facing the institute. Ideal candidates would possess the ability to share the collective patient perspective and connect to a broad constituency with which he or she regularly communicates on cancer issues and with which he or she is able to serve as a conduit of information. He/she would demonstrate the ability to engage in the scientific and research perspective and complement the existing Board membership in terms of academic discipline, scientific expertise as well as geographic and minority representation. Must be able to travel to Washington D.C. three times a year. Council membership to start in June 2015.  Nominations due January 31, 2015.
