2023 Engagement and Outreach Conference

UT’s Office of Community Engagement and Outreach (OCEO) will proudly host its 6th Annual Engagement and Outreach Conference, “Voices, Ideas, and Action: Engagement Strategies for Change” on October 3, 2023. It would be held from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at the UT Student Union, Rooms 169, 180, 270, and 362 A, 362 B, and 362 C.

The Engagement and Outreach Conference will provide a platform for intentional conversations about the many ways that UT’s community engagement impacts communities across the region, state, and globe, highlighting the positive impacts of engaged work and providing strategies and solutions for sustainable partnerships.

Parking Information for External Visitors

  • Parking is available at the Vol Hall Parking Garage, 1545 White Avenue, Knoxville. Please get a ticket as you enter the garage, and pick up a parking voucher at the registration table. You will need your ticket and parking voucher as you exit the parking garage.
  • A campus map is available here.
  • All conference activities will be held at the Student Union, which is located at 1502 Cumberland Avenue, Knoxville.
  • Mask wearing is optional, and we respect your personal decision.

  • Join Joycesonia Lawson and Stacey Robinson for an hour-long meditation in the BLACKMAU exhibition. Please bring a mat or pillow, as a limited number will be available.

Live “YOU MIGHT BE RIGHT” Podcast Recording:

“What can Government do for America’s Children?” 5:30 p.m.
  • Hosts of the popular podcast, Governors Phil Bredesen and Bill Haslam, and their guests will evaluate the evidence on the wellbeing America’s children and their parents, and the public policies that might make a difference. Featuring University of Maryland professor Melissa Kearney and Richard Reeves, President of the American Institute for Boys and Men. More information here.

Annual Fall Festival

  • Holston Middle School will be hosting their annual fall festival which will include information booths, local vendors, and food. Local colleges are invited to set up a booth with information about their institute.

Artist Lecture

  • Stacy A. Robinson, Associate Professor of Graphic Design at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign was a 2019-2020 Nasir Jones Hip-Hop Fellow at Harvard University’s Hutchins Center for African & African American Research and completed his MFA at the University at Buffalo in 2015.

Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration
